Dupatta is generally worn by South Asian women with Punjabi suits to match their dresses. It is a multi-purpose long scarf which is a must-have for women as a symbol of modesty in this region. The dupatta’s are majorly used with salwar kameez and at times with kurti(s), however is also worn over the lehenga-choli or gharara. The alternate names include; chadar-orni, orna, chunri, chunni and pacheri.
